Barangay Hangi

Situated in Las Navas, Northern Samar, Barangay Hangi is one of 53 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Hangi had a population of 376. This made it the 37th largest of 53 barangays in Las Navas by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Hangi accounted for approximately 1.03% of the total population of Las Navas, which stood at 36,621 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 446 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 376 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -15.7%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Hangi is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Las Navas is a municipality comprising 53 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Hangi, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Northern Samar, which contains 569 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Hangi ranks 489th by 2020 population.
