Barangay Macarthur

Situated in Las Navas, Northern Samar, Barangay Macarthur is one of 53 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Macarthur had a population of 304. This made it the 48th largest of 53 barangays in Las Navas by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Macarthur accounted for approximately 0.83% of the total population of Las Navas, which stood at 36,621 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 326 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 304 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -6.7%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Macarthur is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Las Navas is a municipality comprising 53 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Macarthur, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
