Barangay Palanas

Barangay Palanas is a small barangay in the municipality of Las Navas, located in the province of Northern Samar, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Palanas had a population of 566. This made it the 24th largest of 53 barangays in Las Navas by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Palanas accounted for approximately 1.55% of the total population of Las Navas, which stood at 36,621 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Palanas moving from 350 residents to 566 residents, an intercensal change of +61.7%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Palanas is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
