Barangay Maybunga

Situated in Laua-An, Antique, Barangay Maybunga is one of 40 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Maybunga had a population of 520. This made it the 19th largest of 40 barangays in Laua-An by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Maybunga accounted for approximately 1.96% of the total population of Laua-An, which stood at 26,580 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Maybunga changed from 525 to 520, a shift of -1.0% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with broadly stable populations in Laua-An. Barangay Maybunga is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Laua-An is a municipality comprising 40 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Maybunga, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
