Barangay Guintas

Barangay Guintas is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Leganes, located in the province of Iloilo, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Guintas had a population of 2,164. This made it the 7th largest of 18 barangays in Leganes by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Guintas accounted for approximately 6.23% of the total population of Leganes, which stood at 34,725 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Guintas moving from 1,498 residents to 2,164 residents, an intercensal change of +44.5%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Guintas as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
