Barangay Capiñahan

Barangay Capiñahan is a small barangay in the municipality of Lemery, located in the province of Iloilo, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Capiñahan had a population of 1,078. This made it the 13th largest of 31 barangays in Lemery by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Capiñahan accounted for approximately 3.43% of the total population of Lemery, which stood at 31,414 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Capiñahan moving from 724 residents to 1,078 residents, an intercensal change of +48.9%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Capiñahan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
