Barangay Wawa Ilaya

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Wawa Ilaya is one of the administrative divisions of Lemery in Batangas, CALABARZON, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Wawa Ilaya had a population of 1,456. This made it the 32nd largest of 46 barangays in Lemery by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Wawa Ilaya accounted for approximately 1.56% of the total population of Lemery, which stood at 93,186 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,779 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,456 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -18.2%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Wawa Ilaya is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
