Barangay Poblacion

Situated in Licuan-Baay, Abra, Barangay Poblacion is one of 11 barangays that make up the municipality within CAR.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Poblacion had a population of 276. This made it the 9th largest of 11 barangays in Licuan-Baay by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion accounted for approximately 6.04% of the total population of Licuan-Baay, which stood at 4,566 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Poblacion changed from 434 to 276, a shift of -36.4% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Licuan-Baay. Barangay Poblacion is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Licuan-Baay is a municipality comprising 11 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
