Barangay Cagbungalon

Barangay Cagbungalon is a small barangay in the municipality of Liloan, located in the province of Southern Leyte, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Cagbungalon had a population of 640. This made it the 18th largest of 24 barangays in Liloan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cagbungalon accounted for approximately 2.58% of the total population of Liloan, which stood at 24,800 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Cagbungalon moving from 524 residents to 640 residents, an intercensal change of +22.1%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Cagbungalon is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Liloan is a municipality comprising 24 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Cagbungalon, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
