Barangay Ilag

Situated in Liloan, Southern Leyte, Barangay Ilag is one of 24 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Ilag had a population of 1,410. This made it the 4th largest of 24 barangays in Liloan by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Ilag accounted for approximately 5.69% of the total population of Liloan, which stood at 24,800 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Ilag moving from 1,359 residents to 1,410 residents, an intercensal change of +3.8%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Ilag is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
