Barangay Mandus

Situated in Lingig, Surigao Del Sur, Barangay Mandus is one of 18 barangays that make up the municipality within Caraga.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Mandus had a population of 1,940. This made it the 8th largest of 18 barangays in Lingig by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Mandus accounted for approximately 5.52% of the total population of Lingig, which stood at 35,142 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Mandus changed from 1,834 to 1,940, a shift of +5.8% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Lingig. Barangay Mandus is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Lingig is a municipality comprising 18 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Mandus, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Surigao Del Sur, which contains 309 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Mandus ranks 105th by 2020 population.
