Barangay So-ong

Situated in Llorente, Eastern Samar, Barangay So-ong is one of 33 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay So-ong had a population of 778. This made it the 12th largest of 33 barangays in Llorente by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay So-ong accounted for approximately 3.63% of the total population of Llorente, which stood at 21,459 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay So-ong moving from 774 residents to 778 residents, an intercensal change of +0.5%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. Barangay So-ong is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
