Barangay Sibula

Situated in Lopez Jaena, Misamis Occidental, Barangay Sibula is one of 28 barangays that make up the municipality within Northern Mindanao.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Sibula had a population of 1,436. This made it the 6th largest of 28 barangays in Lopez Jaena by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Sibula accounted for approximately 5.63% of the total population of Lopez Jaena, which stood at 25,507 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Sibula moving from 1,385 residents to 1,436 residents, an intercensal change of +3.7%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Sibula as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
