Barangay Salcedo (Pob.)

Barangay Salcedo (Pob.) is a small barangay in the municipality of Luna, located in the province of La Union, in the Ilocos Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Salcedo (Pob.) had a population of 1,148. This made it the 11th largest of 40 barangays in Luna by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Salcedo (Pob.) accounted for approximately 3.08% of the total population of Luna, which stood at 37,318 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Salcedo (Pob.) changed from 1,038 to 1,148, a shift of +10.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Luna. Barangay Salcedo (Pob.) is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Luna is a municipality comprising 40 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Salcedo (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
