Barangay Balbalungao

Situated in Lupao, Nueva Ecija, Barangay Balbalungao is one of 24 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Luzon.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Balbalungao had a population of 2,454. This made it the 4th largest of 24 barangays in Lupao by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Balbalungao accounted for approximately 5.34% of the total population of Lupao, which stood at 45,917 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Balbalungao changed from 2,677 to 2,454, a shift of -8.3% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Lupao. Barangay Balbalungao is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Lupao is a municipality comprising 24 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Balbalungao, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
