Barangay Poblacion South

Situated in Lupao, Nueva Ecija, Barangay Poblacion South is one of 24 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Luzon.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Poblacion South had a population of 1,700. This made it the 14th largest of 24 barangays in Lupao by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion South accounted for approximately 3.70% of the total population of Lupao, which stood at 45,917 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,392 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,700 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +22.1%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Poblacion South is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
