Barangay La Purisima

Barangay La Purisima is a small barangay in the municipality of Lupi, located in the province of Camarines Sur, in the Bicol Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay La Purisima had a population of 865. This made it the 15th largest of 38 barangays in Lupi by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay La Purisima accounted for approximately 2.55% of the total population of Lupi, which stood at 33,897 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay La Purisima changed from 719 to 865, a shift of +20.3% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Lupi. Barangay La Purisima is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Lupi is a municipality comprising 38 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay La Purisima, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
