Barangay Burabod

Situated in Macarthur, Leyte, Barangay Burabod is one of 31 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Burabod had a population of 337. This made it the 25th largest of 31 barangays in Macarthur by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Burabod accounted for approximately 1.56% of the total population of Macarthur, which stood at 21,578 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Burabod changed from 338 to 337, a shift of -0.3% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with broadly stable populations in Macarthur. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Burabod as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Macarthur is a municipality comprising 31 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Burabod, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
