Barangay General Luna

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay General Luna is one of the administrative divisions of Macarthur in Leyte, Eastern Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay General Luna had a population of 775. This made it the 10th largest of 31 barangays in Macarthur by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay General Luna accounted for approximately 3.59% of the total population of Macarthur, which stood at 21,578 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay General Luna changed from 741 to 775, a shift of +4.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Macarthur. Barangay General Luna is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Macarthur is a municipality comprising 31 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay General Luna, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
