Barangay Oguisan

Situated in Macarthur, Leyte, Barangay Oguisan is one of 31 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Oguisan had a population of 153. This made it the 30th largest of 31 barangays in Macarthur by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Oguisan accounted for approximately 0.71% of the total population of Macarthur, which stood at 21,578 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Oguisan moving from 156 residents to 153 residents, an intercensal change of -1.9%. The trajectory indicates a broadly stable community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Oguisan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Macarthur is a municipality comprising 31 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Oguisan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
