Barangay Bucana

Barangay Bucana forms part of Maco, a municipality in Davao De Oro, and is classified as a small barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Bucana had a population of 1,258. This made it the 23rd largest of 37 barangays in Maco by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bucana accounted for approximately 1.51% of the total population of Maco, which stood at 83,237 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Bucana moving from 1,538 residents to 1,258 residents, an intercensal change of -18.2%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Bucana as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
