Barangay Escaler

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Escaler is one of the administrative divisions of Magalang in Pampanga, Central Luzon, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Escaler had a population of 1,952. This made it the 24th largest of 27 barangays in Magalang by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Escaler accounted for approximately 1.57% of the total population of Magalang, which stood at 124,188 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Escaler changed from 1,826 to 1,952, a shift of +6.9% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Magalang. Barangay Escaler is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Magalang is a municipality comprising 27 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Escaler, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Pampanga, which contains 538 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Escaler ranks 402nd by 2020 population.
