Barangay San Agustin

Barangay San Agustin is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Magalang, located in the province of Pampanga, in the Central Luzon region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay San Agustin had a population of 3,820. This made it the 11th largest of 27 barangays in Magalang by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay San Agustin accounted for approximately 3.08% of the total population of Magalang, which stood at 124,188 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay San Agustin changed from 3,324 to 3,820, a shift of +14.9% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Magalang. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay San Agustin as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Magalang is a municipality comprising 27 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay San Agustin, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Pampanga, which contains 538 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay San Agustin ranks 227th by 2020 population. Pampanga is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.
