Barangay Magsaysay

Barangay Magsaysay is a very small barangay in the municipality of Magallanes, located in the province of Sorsogon, in the Bicol Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Magsaysay had a population of 300. This made it the 34th largest of 34 barangays in Magallanes by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Magsaysay accounted for approximately 0.80% of the total population of Magallanes, which stood at 37,411 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Magsaysay moving from 262 residents to 300 residents, an intercensal change of +14.5%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Magsaysay is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Magallanes is a municipality comprising 34 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Magsaysay, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
