Barangay Malbog

Classified as a very small barangay, Barangay Malbog is one of the administrative divisions of Magallanes in Sorsogon, Bicol Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Malbog had a population of 359. This made it the 33rd largest of 34 barangays in Magallanes by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Malbog accounted for approximately 0.96% of the total population of Magallanes, which stood at 37,411 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Malbog changed from 343 to 359, a shift of +4.7% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Magallanes. Barangay Malbog is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Magallanes is a municipality comprising 34 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Malbog, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
