Barangay Argao

Barangay Argao forms part of Malay, a municipality in Aklan, and is classified as a small barangay.

This made it the 9th largest of 17 barangays in Malay by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Argao accounted for approximately 2.15% of the total population of Malay, which stood at 60,077 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Argao moving from 1,213 residents to 1,291 residents, an intercensal change of +6.4%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Argao as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
