Barangay Tayamaan

Situated in Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro, Barangay Tayamaan is one of 15 barangays that make up the municipality within MIMAROPA Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Tayamaan had a population of 10,129. This made it the 2nd largest of 15 barangays in Mamburao by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tayamaan accounted for approximately 21.23% of the total population of Mamburao, which stood at 47,705 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 8,764 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 10,129 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +15.6%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Tayamaan is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Mamburao is a municipality comprising 15 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Tayamaan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Occidental Mindoro, which contains 164 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Tayamaan ranks 7th by 2020 population. Occidental Mindoro is classified as a 2nd by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.

Like every Philippine barangay, Barangay Tayamaan is led by an elected Punong Barangay (barangay captain) supported by seven Sangguniang Barangay members (kagawads), an SK Chairperson, a Barangay Secretary, and a Barangay Treasurer. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
