Barangay II-A (Pob.)

Barangay II-A (Pob.) is a small barangay in the municipality of Manapla, located in the province of Negros Occidental, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay II-A (Pob.) had a population of 908. This made it the 12th largest of 12 barangays in Manapla by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay II-A (Pob.) accounted for approximately 1.65% of the total population of Manapla, which stood at 55,083 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,429 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 908 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -36.5%, consistent with a contracting settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay II-A (Pob.) as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Manapla is a municipality comprising 12 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay II-A (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Negros Occidental, which contains 662 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay II-A (Pob.) ranks 562nd by 2020 population.
