Barangay Chambery

Situated in Manapla, Negros Occidental, Barangay Chambery is one of 12 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Chambery had a population of 2,999. This made it the 8th largest of 12 barangays in Manapla by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Chambery accounted for approximately 5.44% of the total population of Manapla, which stood at 55,083 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 3,094 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,999 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -3.1%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Chambery is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Manapla is a municipality comprising 12 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Chambery, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
