Barangay Old Macopa

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Old Macopa is one of the administrative divisions of Manay in Davao Oriental, Davao Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Old Macopa had a population of 3,455. This made it the 4th largest of 17 barangays in Manay by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Old Macopa accounted for approximately 8.73% of the total population of Manay, which stood at 39,572 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 4,344 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 3,455 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -20.5%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Old Macopa is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Manay is a municipality comprising 17 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Old Macopa, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Davao Oriental, which contains 183 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Old Macopa ranks 50th by 2020 population. Barangay Old Macopa is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
