Barangay Balabagon

Situated in Manito, Albay, Barangay Balabagon is one of 15 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Balabagon had a population of 545. This made it the 15th largest of 15 barangays in Manito by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Balabagon accounted for approximately 2.08% of the total population of Manito, which stood at 26,162 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 507 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 545 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +7.5%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Balabagon as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Manito is a municipality comprising 15 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Balabagon, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
