Barangay Panciao

Situated in Manjuyod, Negros Oriental, Barangay Panciao is one of 27 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Panciao had a population of 2,046. This made it the 10th largest of 27 barangays in Manjuyod by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Panciao accounted for approximately 4.57% of the total population of Manjuyod, which stood at 44,799 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Panciao moving from 2,300 residents to 2,046 residents, an intercensal change of -11.0%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Panciao as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Manjuyod is a municipality comprising 27 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Panciao, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Negros Oriental, which contains 557 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Panciao ranks 267th by 2020 population.
