Barangay Parasanon

Barangay Parasanon is a small barangay in the municipality of Maragusan, located in the province of Davao De Oro, in the Davao Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Parasanon had a population of 820. This made it the 21st largest of 24 barangays in Maragusan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Parasanon accounted for approximately 1.27% of the total population of Maragusan, which stood at 64,412 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Parasanon moving from 855 residents to 820 residents, an intercensal change of -4.1%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Parasanon as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Maragusan is a municipality comprising 24 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Parasanon, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
