Barangay District I (Pob.)

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay District I (Pob.) is one of the administrative divisions of Mataasnakahoy in Batangas, CALABARZON, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay District I (Pob.) had a population of 2,351. This made it the 4th largest of 16 barangays in Mataasnakahoy by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay District I (Pob.) accounted for approximately 7.68% of the total population of Mataasnakahoy, which stood at 30,621 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay District I (Pob.) changed from 2,324 to 2,351, a shift of +1.2% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with slowly expanding populations in Mataasnakahoy. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay District I (Pob.) as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Mataasnakahoy is a municipality comprising 16 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay District I (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
