Barangay Nangkaan

Situated in Mataasnakahoy, Batangas, Barangay Nangkaan is one of 16 barangays that make up the municipality within CALABARZON.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Nangkaan had a population of 2,299. This made it the 5th largest of 16 barangays in Mataasnakahoy by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Nangkaan accounted for approximately 7.51% of the total population of Mataasnakahoy, which stood at 30,621 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,374 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,299 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -3.2%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Nangkaan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
