Barangay Santa Rosa

Barangay Santa Rosa forms part of Matag-Ob, a municipality in Leyte, and is classified as a small barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Santa Rosa had a population of 1,202. This made it the 5th largest of 21 barangays in Matag-Ob by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Santa Rosa accounted for approximately 6.86% of the total population of Matag-Ob, which stood at 17,522 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Santa Rosa moving from 1,378 residents to 1,202 residents, an intercensal change of -12.8%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Santa Rosa as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
