Barangay Camachiles (Pob.)

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Camachiles (Pob.) is one of the administrative divisions of Matnog in Sorsogon, Bicol Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Camachiles (Pob.) had a population of 1,684. This made it the 5th largest of 40 barangays in Matnog by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Camachiles (Pob.) accounted for approximately 4.01% of the total population of Matnog, which stood at 41,989 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Camachiles (Pob.) changed from 1,639 to 1,684, a shift of +2.7% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Matnog. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Camachiles (Pob.) as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Matnog is a municipality comprising 40 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Camachiles (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
