Barangay Banhal

Barangay Banhal is a small barangay in the municipality of Mayoyao, located in the province of Ifugao, in the CAR region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Banhal had a population of 589. This made it the 10th largest of 27 barangays in Mayoyao by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Banhal accounted for approximately 3.77% of the total population of Mayoyao, which stood at 15,621 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Banhal moving from 615 residents to 589 residents, an intercensal change of -4.2%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Banhal as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Mayoyao is a municipality comprising 27 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Banhal, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
