Barangay Chumang

Barangay Chumang forms part of Mayoyao, a municipality in Ifugao, and is classified as a small barangay.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Chumang had a population of 1,058. This made it the 3rd largest of 27 barangays in Mayoyao by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Chumang accounted for approximately 6.77% of the total population of Mayoyao, which stood at 15,621 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Chumang moving from 1,265 residents to 1,058 residents, an intercensal change of -16.4%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Chumang is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
