Barangay La Consolacion

Situated in Miagao, Iloilo, Barangay La Consolacion is one of 119 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay La Consolacion had a population of 471. This made it the 53rd largest of 119 barangays in Miagao by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay La Consolacion accounted for approximately 0.69% of the total population of Miagao, which stood at 68,115 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 451 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 471 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +4.4%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay La Consolacion as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Miagao is a municipality comprising 119 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay La Consolacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
