Barangay Mabayan

Situated in Miagao, Iloilo, Barangay Mabayan is one of 119 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Mabayan had a population of 226. This made it the 96th largest of 119 barangays in Miagao by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Mabayan accounted for approximately 0.33% of the total population of Miagao, which stood at 68,115 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Mabayan moving from 213 residents to 226 residents, an intercensal change of +6.1%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Mabayan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
