Barangay Tan-agan

Situated in Miagao, Iloilo, Barangay Tan-agan is one of 119 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Tan-agan had a population of 569. This made it the 40th largest of 119 barangays in Miagao by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tan-agan accounted for approximately 0.84% of the total population of Miagao, which stood at 68,115 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Tan-agan moving from 556 residents to 569 residents, an intercensal change of +2.3%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Tan-agan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Miagao is a municipality comprising 119 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Tan-agan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
