Barangay Kahayagan

Classified as a very small barangay, Barangay Kahayagan is one of the administrative divisions of Midsalip in Zamboanga Del Sur, Zamboanga Peninsula, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Kahayagan had a population of 342. This made it the 33rd largest of 33 barangays in Midsalip by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Kahayagan accounted for approximately 1.01% of the total population of Midsalip, which stood at 33,711 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Kahayagan moving from 290 residents to 342 residents, an intercensal change of +17.9%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Kahayagan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Midsalip is a municipality comprising 33 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Kahayagan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
