Barangay Poblacion A

Barangay Poblacion A is a small barangay in the municipality of Midsalip, located in the province of Zamboanga Del Sur, in the Zamboanga Peninsula region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Poblacion A had a population of 1,923. This made it the 3rd largest of 33 barangays in Midsalip by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion A accounted for approximately 5.70% of the total population of Midsalip, which stood at 33,711 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Poblacion A changed from 1,755 to 1,923, a shift of +9.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Midsalip. Barangay Poblacion A is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Midsalip is a municipality comprising 33 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion A, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
