Barangay Mangyan-Mababad

Barangay Mangyan-Mababad is a very small barangay in the municipality of Mogpog, located in the province of Marinduque, in the MIMAROPA Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Mangyan-Mababad had a population of 296. This made it the 34th largest of 37 barangays in Mogpog by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Mangyan-Mababad accounted for approximately 0.86% of the total population of Mogpog, which stood at 34,516 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Mangyan-Mababad changed from 246 to 296, a shift of +20.3% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Mogpog. Barangay Mangyan-Mababad is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Mogpog is a municipality comprising 37 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Mangyan-Mababad, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Marinduque, which contains 218 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Mangyan-Mababad ranks 207th by 2020 population. Marinduque is classified as a 4th by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.

Barangay Mangyan-Mababad is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
