Barangay Baquero Sur

Barangay Baquero Sur is a small barangay in the municipality of Moncada, located in the province of Tarlac, in the Central Luzon region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Baquero Sur had a population of 1,341. This made it the 24th largest of 37 barangays in Moncada by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Baquero Sur accounted for approximately 2.13% of the total population of Moncada, which stood at 62,819 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,218 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,341 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +10.1%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Baquero Sur is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Moncada is a municipality comprising 37 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Baquero Sur, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Tarlac, which contains 511 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Baquero Sur ranks 366th by 2020 population. The next BSKE is scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, following the synchronized election schedule set by COMELEC Resolution No. 11191.
