Barangay Burgos

Situated in Moncada, Tarlac, Barangay Burgos is one of 37 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Luzon.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Burgos had a population of 2,257. This made it the 6th largest of 37 barangays in Moncada by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Burgos accounted for approximately 3.59% of the total population of Moncada, which stood at 62,819 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,359 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,257 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -4.3%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Burgos is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Moncada is a municipality comprising 37 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Burgos, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Tarlac, which contains 511 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Burgos ranks 231st by 2020 population. The next BSKE is scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, following the synchronized election schedule set by COMELEC Resolution No. 11191.
