Barangay La Purisima

Situated in Nabua, Camarines Sur, Barangay La Purisima is one of 42 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay La Purisima had a population of 9,895. This made it the 1st largest of 42 barangays in Nabua by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay La Purisima accounted for approximately 11.44% of the total population of Nabua, which stood at 86,490 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay La Purisima changed from 9,020 to 9,895, a shift of +9.7% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Nabua. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay La Purisima as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Nabua is a municipality comprising 42 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay La Purisima, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Camarines Sur, which contains 1,063 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay La Purisima ranks 12th by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
