Barangay Lower Sulitan

Situated in Naga, Zamboanga Sibugay, Barangay Lower Sulitan is one of 23 barangays that make up the municipality within Zamboanga Peninsula.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Lower Sulitan had a population of 921. This made it the 21st largest of 23 barangays in Naga by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Lower Sulitan accounted for approximately 2.21% of the total population of Naga, which stood at 41,743 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Lower Sulitan changed from 789 to 921, a shift of +16.7% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Naga. Barangay Lower Sulitan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Naga is a municipality comprising 23 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Lower Sulitan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
