Barangay Banawal

Barangay Banawal is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Natonin, located in the province of Mountain Province, in the CAR region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Banawal had a population of 2,298. This made it the 1st largest of 11 barangays in Natonin by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Banawal accounted for approximately 22.23% of the total population of Natonin, which stood at 10,339 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Banawal moving from 2,382 residents to 2,298 residents, an intercensal change of -3.5%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Banawal as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
